Josh Geiger - Executive Director

Josh Geiger is from Alexandria Virginia and studied international relations at Stanford University. Josh spent seven years overseas growing up, three years in Peru and four years in Bolivia. While in school, a Bible study on the life of Jesus changed his life and led him on the path towards ministry. He served as the pastor of Cristo Rey from 2002-2015, pastored Pacific Crossroads Church in Los Angeles from 2015-2017, and is now the Executive Director of Casa del Lago. When asked to describe Casa in one word, Josh couldn’t help himself and said: “a-welcoming-family.” He says of this community, “Hardship has not kept the people of this community from being warm-hearted and friendly, and poverty has not kept them from being generous and open-hearted.”  When not at Casa del Lago, Josh can often be found at White Rock Lake coaching for the White Rock Rowing Club or rowing a single.

Marlene Miranda - Director of Operations

Marlene Miranda resides in DFW but is originally from the beautiful island of Puerto Rico. She earned a bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico and a MBA in Finance from the Inter American University of Puerto Rico. Using her unique gifts, Marlene serves as Casa’s Operations Manager. She values leading others to Christ and enhancing their quality of life. While work can get messy at times, she makes sure to make her bed at home every day. To her, Casa del Lago is “cozy.” The people of Bachman Lake are eager to learn and determined to grow and improve their lives; they inspire and motivate her in her work.

Steve Tenpenny - Director of Adult Education

Steve Tenpenny calls Dallas home and holds degrees in Bible/theology, English, and history and a teacher certification. In 2000, John Piper spoke and challenged middle agers to retire early from a career to go into ministry. Steve determined then that this would be his plan. He left a 30-year career in Information Systems (at age 63) 18 years later and waited for God’s guidance. Providentially, the Director of Adult Education position opened at Casa! Steve enjoys watching football and baseball and reading books on philosophy or science from a Christian perspective. He loves how his Bachman Lake neighbors steadfastly pursue a better life in the face of poverty, hardship, and social disadvantages. For him, Casa is “community.”
